Team Update

When I first set out to create the R1, I was a college student and I had just brought the latest ShredLights to market. Motivated by the passion I felt for electric longboards, the goal was to create a powerful shortboard that could be affordable to college students like me. The journey of launching Riptide has been a whirlwind to say the least.
On the operational side, I’m proud of our successful Indiegogo campaign, the hundreds of boards we’ve fulfilled (with just a few more International orders to go), and the customer support we’ve been able to provide. On a personal level it has been a blast to meet several of the industry’s most respected riders and creators from New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and San Diego.
While there have been lots of wins, there have been challenges as well. I pulled a lot of my focus away from the ShredLights brand, team, and customers in recent months. As a result, I have seen it begin to affect our ability to deliver quality product on time to all customers, includingRiptide.
As I plan for the future, I am unable to justify splitting my focus and resources as I have been. A mentor of mine once told me, “Multitasking is the opportunity to screw up more than one thing at a time.”
For this reason, I have decided to leave Riptide and work full time on ShredLights. This was a very difficult decision to make, but I am confident it’s best for both companies in order to keep our customers the #1 priority. I couldn’t be happier with the team at Riptide and what they will accomplish in the future. Customers should not expect any drop off in service and should stay tuned for exciting news later this month.
I wish the Riptide team the best and will be cheering for them on both personal and professional levels as ShredLights will remain a supplier. The Riptide R1 is my favorite electric skateboard and I hope you enjoy riding it as much as I do. Thank you for all of your support and stay tuned!
